Georgia motorcycle laws
The rules that can come up in your case.

| Topic | General Georgia rule |
|---|---|
| Helmets | Required for riders and passengers, meeting set safety standards |
| Eye protection | Required unless the bike has a windshield |
| Lane splitting | Riding between lanes of traffic is generally prohibited |
| Riding two abreast | Allowed in a single lane, no more than two |
| Full lane use | A motorcycle is entitled to the full use of a lane |
| Headlight | Required to be on while operating |
Breaking a rule doesn’t end your case
Under Georgia’s comparative fault rule, you can still recover if you were less at fault than the other driver, reduced by your share of fault. A traffic ticket doesn’t decide the civil case, either.
